Sermon Notes

John 10:10 NKJV
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I
have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly.”
John 10:10 MSG
“… I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life
than they ever dreamed of.”
John 10:10 NIV
“… I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
John 10:10 NLT
“… My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
John 10:10 CEV
“… I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest.”
Questions I’m Continuously Asking Myself:
• Am I fulfilled in what I’m doing with my life?
• Am I engaged in a life that’s full?
• If not, what do I need to do to get into that kind of life?
• Do I wake up in the morning excited about what’s ahead?
Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG
It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.
Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his
eye on us, had designs on us for GLORIOUS LIVING, part of the
overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.
The Trinity of Fulfillment:

  1. Calling
  2. Gifts
  3. Passion
    Calling:
    • The original intent for the creation of a thing
    • The reason for your existence
    • The expectation of the source of your life
    Ephesians 1:18 NIV
… that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you
may know the hope to which he has called you …
    Romans 8:28 NKJV
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love
God, to those who are the CALLED according to HIS PURPOSE.
    Romans 11:29 NLT
For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.
    Questions:
    • Do you believe you have a call from God?
    • Do you know what your calling is?
    • Are you living in your calling now?
The key that made the difference was one word: HUNGER!
    Matthew 5:6 NKJV
“Blessed are those who HUNGER and THIRST for righteousness, for
    they shall be filled.”
    Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it
will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
    Food—Money—Sex—Entertainment—Success—Companionship
“When your hunger for the things of God becomes greater than your
hunger for the things of the world, you begin to discover what God is
    calling you to do!”
    Gifts:
    • Abilities that God gives you for His own special work
    Romans 12:3-8 NKJV
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among
you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to
think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For
as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not
have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ,
and individually members of one another. HAVING THEN GIFTS
DIFFERING ACCORDING TO THE GRACE THAT IS GIVEN TO US,
    let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in
    teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality;
he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with
    cheerfulness.
    My Gifts:

  1. Gift of Faith
  2. Gift of Prophecy
  3. Gift of Grit
  4. Gift of Giving
  5. Gift of Leadership
    Passion:
Urban Dictionary: “When you put more energy into something than
is required to do it. Passion is when you put as much heart, mind,
body and soul into something as possible.”
“A man who does not have something for which he is willing to die is
not fit to live.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.
“If you’re not at least willing to die for something — something that
really matters — in the end, you die for nothing.” — Andrew Klavan
