choose the best. He shall live within God’s circle of blessing, and his
children shall inherit the earth.
Mark 4:19 NIV
“…but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the
desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it
unfruitful.”
Proverbs 29:18a NKJ
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint…
“Where there is no purpose, there is no self control, no moral
conviction, no eternal boundaries.”
4 Levels of Where People Live Concerning the Use of Money:

  1. PAY DEBTS: Living for the PAST
  2. SPEND IT: Living for the NOW
  3. SAVE/INVEST IT: Living for the FUTURE
  4. GIVE IT: Living for ETERNITY
    Matthew 19:16-29 NLT
Someone came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher, what good
deed must I do to have eternal life?” “Why ask me about what is
good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer
your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep the
commandments.” “Which ones?” the man asked. And Jesus
replied: “‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You
must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and
mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.’” “I’ve obeyed all these
commandments,” the young man replied. “What else must I do?”
Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your
possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” But when the young man
heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions. Then
Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich
person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I’ll say it again—it is easier
for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to
enter the Kingdom of God!” The disciples were astounded. “Then who
in the world can be saved?” they asked. Jesus looked at them intently
and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God
everything is possible.” Then Peter said to him, “We’ve given up
everything to follow you. What will we get?” Jesus replied, “I assure
you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon
his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on
twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who
has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or
children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as
much in return and will inherit eternal life.

Principles of Purpose:

  1. PURPOSE TRANSFORMS YOUR VALUES.
    Mark 8:36 NKJ
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his
    own soul?”
  2. PURPOSE IS BUILT AROUND ESTABLISHING GOD’S
    COVENANT.
    Deuteronomy 8:7-20 NKJ
“For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of
brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and
hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and
pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will
eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land
whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper.
When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your
God for the good land which He has given you. Beware that you do
not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His
judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—
when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses
and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and
your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is
multiplied; when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your
God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of
bondage; who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in
which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there
was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; who
fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not
know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do
you good in the end—then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the
might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’ And you shall
remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get
wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your
fathers, as it is this day. Then it shall be, if you by any means forget
the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and
worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely
perish. As the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so you
shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the
    LORD your God.”
  3. PURPOSE CAUSES THE BLESSINGS OF GOD TO COME.
    Proverbs 19:21 NIV
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose
    that prevails.
    Romans 8:28 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the
good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose
    for them.
