Sermon Notes

John 14:16-17 NKJ
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that
He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world
cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you
know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
John 14:26 NKJ
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My
name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all
things that I said to you.”
John 16:13 NKJ
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you
into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever
He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
John 16:7-8 NLT
“But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the
Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s
righteousness, and of the coming judgment.”
The Holy Spirit Focuses on 3 Major Areas:

  1. Convincing you of your sin
  2. Convincing you of your relationship
    Romans 8:1 NLT
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ
    Jesus.
    Romans 8:15-16 NLT
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves.
Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own
children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our
spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
  3. Convincing you of your freedom
    Romans 8:9-11 NLT
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by
the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And
remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in
them do not belong to him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even
though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life
because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who
raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised
Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by
this same Spirit living within you.
    Romans 8:5-6 NKJ
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things
of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of
the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually
    minded is life and peace.
    Declaration:
Jesus, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit. You are my Helper. I
desire to have a greater relationship with You. You are the Spirit of
Truth. I thank You for opening up the Word of God to me, and
bringing new revelation and understanding. You bring all things to my
remembrance and You show me things to come. I embrace Your
conviction in my life when I sin. I receive Your affirmation that I am a
son/daughter of The Most High. I trust in Your strength to empower
me over temptation into a place of liberty. You have sealed me and
You are leading me. I thank You that You are with me always and
You will never leave me. From this moment forward I will honor You,
    follow You and obey You.
