1 John 5:4 NKJ
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the

  4. Fear of the dark
  5. Fear of intimacy
  6. Fear of death
  7. Fear of failure

Things to Know about Fear:

  1. Fear originates from a spirit.
    2 Timothy 1:7 NKJ
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and
    of a sound mind.
    Ephesians 6:12 NKJ
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
  2. Fear opens the door to curses in your life.
    Job 3:25 NKJ
For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded
    has happened to me.
  3. Fear closes the door to blessings in your life.
“Fear is faith that it won’t work out.”
  4. Fear paralyzes us from fulfilling our purpose.
“Fears lie and make us not go where we might have won. There are
always two voices sounding in our ears — the voice of fear and the
voice of faith. One is the clamor of the senses. The other is the
whispering of God. NEVER LET YOUR FEARS HOLD YOU BACK
    FROM PURSUING YOUR DREAM.”
    – Conquering an Enemy Called Average, John Mason

How to Overcome Fear:

  1. Build your faith more than your fear.
    Hebrews 11:6 NKJ
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to
God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who
    diligently seek Him.
    Romans 10:17 NKJ
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
    Joshua 1:6-9 NKJ
“Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as
an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do
according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do
not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper
wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your
mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may
observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not
be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you
    wherever you go.”
    Proverbs 29:25 NKJ
The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall
    be safe.
    Galatians 1:10 NLT
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If
pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
  2. Speak your faith to your fear.
    Proverbs 18:21 NKJ
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it
    will eat its fruit.
    Proverbs 21:23 NIV
Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves
    from calamity.
    Mark 11:23 NKJ
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be
removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have
    whatever he says.”
  3. Attack your fear with active faith.
    Matthew 14:22-33 NKJ
Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before
Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when
He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by
Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But
the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for
the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus
went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him
walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And
they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying,
“Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him
and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the
water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of
the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw
that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he
cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched
out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith,
why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind
ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him,
saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
