obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

A government of law and order.

John 1:14-17 NCV
The Word became a human and lived among us. We saw his glory—
the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father—and he was full
of GRACE AND TRUTH. John tells the truth about him and cries out,
saying, “This is the One I told you about: ‘The One who comes after
me is greater than I am, because he was living before me.’” Because
he was full of grace and truth, from him we all received one gift after
another. The law was given through Moses, but GRACE AND
TRUTH CAME THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NLT
Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom
of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or
who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or
practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or
drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—NONE OF THESE WILL
INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
1 Corinthians 6:11 NLT
Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were
made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of
the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
