The Big Choice: “Will I live for myself or will I live for God?”
LUKE 9:23-25 NKJV
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him
deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever
desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My
sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole
world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”
“The power of life with God is only discovered when you give up
trying to do life on your own.”
3 Questions I Asked Myself:
- Am I really proud of the life I’m living?
- Is the story of Jesus really true?
- Is it really possible for a person to start their life over again?
JOHN 6:35-40 NKJV
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me
shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I
said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the
Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will
by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do
My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the
Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose
nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of
Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in
Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
1 Peter 1:3-4 MSG
… Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a
brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in
heaven—and the future starts now!
2 Corinthians 5:15 MSG
… He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be
included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever
lived on their own.
